Felix Winkler studied Computer Science at the Leibniz University Hannover. He completed his master thesis in the field of representation learning in June 2021. In October 2021 he started at the Institute for Information Processing to work towards his PhD, focusing on human motion capturing (mocap) and analysis.

Research Interests

  • parametric body models for human pose estimation (e.g. SMPL)
  • motion capturing using a marker based mocap-system or inertial measurement units (IMUs)
  • multimodal motion capturing using mobile devices (smartphones/smart watches)
  • app development (e.g. iOS) for using depth sensors and IMUs from mobile devices
  • camera-based motion analysis for automated ergonomic assessment

If you are interested in any of these topics or anything else related to human mocap or pose estimation, do not hesitate to contact me for a student position, bachelor's or master's thesis. Besides you can always find open positions on the Student Projects Page.
