Jan Voges studied electrical engineering at Leibniz University Hannover with specialization on communications engineering and received his Dipl.-Ing. degree in 2015. After graduating he joined Institut für Informationsverarbeitung at Leibniz University Hannover where he currently works as a research assistant towards his PhD.

He is an active contributor to ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 29/WG 11 (MPEG), where he works with the Ad-Hoc Group on Genomic Information Representation on the development of the MPEG-G standard (ISO/IEC 23092). More information on MPEG-G is available on the MPEG-G website.
