Numerical approximation of noise in quantum systems
Bachelorarbeit,Masterarbeit,Studienarbeit
Im Rahmen des Projekts Information Measures

Beschreibung

To understand how to best utilize future quantum computers it is important to quantify the noise present in the devices. A core quantity to that end are contraction coefficients. While there definitions are quite simple, the coefficients are generally hard to compute numerically. Here, we aim to use recent results on numerically calculating entropic quantities to approach this problem. The student will develop and implement simple algorithms to numerically calculate the coefficients for particular noise models. This project will take place in close collaboration with the Institute for Theoretical Physics.

Voraussetzungen

A solid understanding of basic linear algebra and programming, e.g. in Phyton, is required.
